Lovehoney wins at the ETO awards!

Lovehoney has been voted Best Online Retailer at the Erotic Trade Only awards.

Held at the NEC in Birmingham, the prestigious ETO awards recognises excellence in the sex toy and adult industries. Lovehoney's loyal customer base propelled them to victory, as its 47,000 strong community has helped to build up a database of 50,000 sex toys reviews - the biggest in the world.

Lovehoney co-founder Richard Longhurst said: "Online retailers live or die by their customer service.

"We put a lot of work into making sure that everyone who comes to Lovehoney has a great shopping experience.

"We have a huge community who we interact with every day, and they quickly tell us what we are doing right and what we are doing wrong.

"We are very, very close to our customers.

"It is enormously flattering for us when they vote for us in such large numbers at award ceremonies like ETO's."

Longhurst added: "We'd like the thank ETO for the recognition. It is the sex toy industry's Bible and does a great job keeping us all informed about the latest developments."

After being featured in the hit Channel 4 documentary 'More Sex Please, We're British', sales are up more than 40% .

Lovehoney was quick to capitalise on the Fifty Shades of Grey sex boom - securing worldwide rights to distribute the only official ranges of pleasure products and pharmacy items approved by the trilogy's author E L James.

The ETO gong is the second big award Lovehoney has scooped in the last two weeks, as it also won Best International Deal at the Insider International Trade Awards in Bristol.

Lovehoney is also competing with household names such as House of Fraser, John Lewis and Lakeland for the best customer service award at the Internet Retailing Awards on Wednesday (June 26) after being named a Commended Winner in the same category. It is also up for Judges' Award on the same night.

Longhurst said: "We have doubled our staff numbers to 100 in the last few years. They have all worked incredibly hard and these wonderful awards are fitting recognition for their efforts."
