Lovehoney Wins Internet Retailing Award
Lovehoney has won the Internet Retailing Award 2013, beating eBay, ASOS, Marks and Spencer and Amazon to mention just a handful of others competing for the top spot.
Attending the awards at Sushi Samba, London's highest restaurant, on 26 June, Lovehoney were delighted to win the highest award of the evening.
The Internet Retailing Award was voted for by the public as well as other online retailers, and recognises excellence in consumer etail.
The company were delighted to have been recognised alongside such influential peers.
After a fantastic reception on London's highest balcony overlooking the Thames, Internet Retailing editor-in-chief Ian Jindal told a packed hall that the commended retailers and overall award winners represented "leading players in a multichannel industry" that were "recognised and respected across the world".
The popular vote as decided by Internet Retailing readers went to Lovehoney, the UK's biggest online retailer of sex toys. Judges commented on Lovehoney's ability to connect with the consumer to create an enjoyable shopping experience, and commended the company's PR strategy, calling them "a well-oiled machine".
Head of e-commerce, Matt Curry, commented that "as a company, we punch way above our weight. Here you have your ASOSes, your Burberrys, your Tescos, your eBays and then you have little old Lovehoney who come en masse, we make a big fuss, we bring freebies, we make a big noise and it's really fun.
"It's nice that we're being heard, and it's nice to get the validation and recognition. Even though we're a little company on the outskirts of Bath, we can still come up to posh London and get given an award. It's lovely!"
