Couples will have more sex tomorrow (Saturday, July 1) than any other day in 2017, according to new research.

Sex O'Clock, the peak time tomorrow when sexual activity will be at its highest, is at 7.37pm.

July is the most passionate month of the year because of the hot weather - chosen by 24% of couples.

Saturday is the most popular day of the week for sex, according to 44% of couples.

Sexual activity peaks on the first Saturday of the month. The time couples are most likely to be having sex is at 7.37pm.

The results are from a survey of 2,000 people by the online sex toy retailer Lovehoney which looked at the precise times we most like to have sex.

It showed that sexual activity is far higher in the summer months because we wear fewer clothes and the sun makes us happier and more optimistic.

Almost a quarter of couples (24%) picked July as the peak month for sex, followed by August (22%) and June (18%).

July and August are the joint hottest months of the year with average temperatures of 19F (66F), followed by September 17C(63F) and June 16C (61F).

We have less sex when the weather is cold - with January and November the bleakest months for passion. December is the peak winter month for sex due to Christmas.

Saturday is easily the most popular day of the week for sex because most of us feel good about not being at work. We also have far more sex at weekends than the rest of the week.

Peak day is Saturday (44%), followed by Sunday (24%) and Friday (22%).

Unsurprisingly, we have the least sex on Monday - just 1% of couples picked it as their most passionate day.

Lovehoney asked couples the time of the day when they were most likely to be having sex. This averaged out at 7.37pm when all the figures were compiled.

A Lovehoney spokeswoman said: "This weekend is set to be the busiest time for sex this year - with the absolute peak at 7.37pm on Saturday night. "Summer is here and we all feel a lot more optimistic when the sun is out. That is a reflected in the heightened levels of sexual activity. "Lovehoney research shows that couple who are sexually happy enjoy more fulfilling relationships - so this is good news for everyone." Lovehoney is Britain's biggest online sex toy retailer.
